iPhone 14 camera issues after iOS 18.6.2 update

Have you Force Restarted your phone, which is different from a restart? I do this after EVERY iOS update --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Also, how is your battery health on your phone? Open Settings > Battery > Battery Health - if it is at 80% or lower, the battery in your phone needs to be replaced at your Apple Store Genius Bar.

How I sorted my issue out on 14 Plus

• Backup, then erase the phone
• Set up the phone as a new phone (don't transfer in any settings detected from your iCloud)
• After being taken to the home screen, check the camera by keeping the mode as standard, and if it's still blurry, pan between portrait and photo mode. The lens should eventually adjust itself and get clear.
• Erase the phone again, then restore your backup.

Did this but not the last part : Erase the phone again, then restore your backup. Seems to be working now will be updating in a few days.

OK. How are you doing with memory? Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage - how much is available out of the total memory on your phone?

I always force restart and if it is a problem you can always go to an Apple Store.

Same here on an iPhone 14 Pro Max (first iPhone, honestly a rough start). After updating to 18.6.2 the camera freezes even at 1x and is basically unusable. Battery is 91% and storage is under 50%, so it’s not a resource issue.

Pretty sure it’s a camera firmware bug — in Messenger I could take 3–4 shots right after the update, now it freezes after 1–2. Tried everything except a factory reset, but it feels pointless if the firmware is broken.

If 18.7 doesn’t fix this, I might go back to non-Apple — my old S phone lasted 6 years with a working camera even without updates.

Mine has done exactly the same. However the camera works when using the motorways app. This would indicate that it is a software I assume.

When I switched the camera app to “Panorama” mode, I heard a clicking sound. As I kept switching between modes like Panorama and Portrait while shaking the device, I noticed a rattling noise. Eventually, the sound stopped, and the focus started working again. The focus is still a bit soft at times, but it has improved quite a lot.

After this update this is the first thing that happened. Cameras and Face ID stopped working. Fixed by restarting the phone. Then the whole device started heating up. This lasted for a few days. My battery basically died. It expanded and I had to replace it. Phone still heats up randomly.

The exact same thing happened to mine after the update I’ve tried everything to fix it the last solution is to send it off to the Apple Store to get fixed which will cost a fortune😡

My camera is messed up after the update as well. It won’t let me use .5 lens and when I tap on it the whole camera just freezes and screen turns grey or black and doesn’t respond. I’ve reset the phone and it did not fix the issue

Battery stucks at some point and instantly drains 4 to 5% after! Its happen while using the phone and restarting your phone on my 14 pro, 18.6 was the best update ever and battery was fantastic! but now i could not downgrade due to unsigned version. Please let me know if anyone knows that there will be 18.7 or not ?
