Forgot Passcode + Reset Apple ID using other device to "try figuring" out passcode

Hi Community, I have reached to the point of getting my i15 totally disabled :( .

I am currently up to "Iphone unavailable try again in 8 hours" and after this, I knew it will be disabled.

I recently figured out I can try to "reset my Apple ID" using my device where it allows me to enter my "potential passcode" that I used. Although I knew my Apple ID, I just wanted to give a go in guessing my passcode.

Scenario : When i tried resetting my Apple ID, I have the option to reset by "Enter Passcode for your other devices". I was able to choose my i15 device and enter its passcode. With this method, I am able to try few possible passcodes that hopefully the corrects one.

However, does anyone know, how many times I can do this. Looks like I am no longer able to use my i15. Will the system refresh after few days or it will just continue where it stops ?

You're going to just completely disable your phone. Follow the directions in this link to connect your iPhone to your computer to erase it, then set it up from your most recent backup --> If you forgot your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

Hey Shairah :),

I recently went through a similar saga. But there is hope lol. I was new to apple products as I’ve always been a Samsung android phone advocate. And lost access to my iCloud account info as well.

Two or maybe Three suggestions to try.

1) if you have access to a Mac device somewhere perhaps another phone or iPad or Mac check your passwords app to see if your saved Apple ID password is located there and write it down for safe keeping and to try and enter into the device your attempting to gain access to again.

2) if that password is not found or not up to date. You can use a Mac book or if you don’t have a Mac book use a windows computer using windows 10 or higher and download the app called apple devices. (I’m not sure if you need the “app” “apple devices” on a Mac or not as I don’t have a Mac computer yet. But once you have your device plugged in. You can update or restore the device to factory settings. It will also give you the option to transfer your data from iCloud or from another device that may contain the information you wish to restore.

  • be aware. You’d need to have access to iCloud data via the web enabled on a device that you do have access to or have it previously enabled.

don’t get discouraged if this attempt fails a few times I had to try and update several times before I could successfully restore my phone.

3) if all this fails give apple support a call. And request an activation lock removal request. Be prepared to provide as much information about the apple account and device details as possible, phone number IMEI #, Apple ID and current or old Apple ID passwords.

I hope his helps

cheers
