Unable to unlock Apple Watch that I purchased online

Recently bought a new Apple Watch series 10 from somebody online and they did not unlock the Apple Watch and no one is communicating back so I can unlock it

is there any chance to get the activation lock off or did I just lose out on a couple hundred dollars for the watch?

Unless the website which you bought it through grants a refund, you've lost that money. The activation lock is an anti-theft measure.

You did not buy a "new" Apple Watch. You bought a used watch that is activation locked.

There is no way to bypass the activation lock. If you can't get your money back, you're out of luck.
