Our other Phones suddenly asked for the passkey because Face ID didn't work and when entered it said wrong passkey. Reenter again still wrong passkey, but it's correct on our side. I-phone is now locked
I'm afraid you'll need to connect your phone to your computer and reset it by following the directions in this link --> If you forgot your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
Once back in, you can restore the phone from the most recent backup.
Did you try the troubleshooting mentioned in this related article, to reset the passcode?
As the phone can't forget the code AND the fact that the FaceID failed, is there a chance it suffered trauma enough to fail the screen connection and camera? ie it thinks you are entering a different code.
That will show itself when you try to restore it in recovery mode.
This is a brand new Phone. Only used it for 2 days
