Face ID always asking for passcode

I have a 14 Pro Max, I use my telephone quite a bit and always log on and off sometimes it could be 10min, 5min, or even after 2min being logged off I tried to log back on again and it almost always asks me for the passcode. It gets annoying. If I have Face ID enabled it should just use that and that’s it, except for maybe some of the situation‘s mentioned in some other threads I saw here.

But that doesn’t happen and it’s still asking me for a passcode. There should be an option in settings to have that disabled. How can we fix this. The battery life and Phone is still working so it’s still going be a year or two before I go back to android, so in the meantime I’d like to have this fixed
