How do I fully disable window tiling margins on macOS?

Good evening, folks. I HATE the margin tiling,

I have turned off all the options for tiling that I want off. But windows continue to expand to full size when I move them, and the margins at the top of the screen will not go away. There is a permanant margin of 5MM at the top, and 5MM on that side, no matter where I put the windows.

My macbook air is 15inches, but it's still small enogh that that I want that 1CM back.

Can someone please help? I HATE tiling so so much. Help would be appreciated because this is just a dumb feature and turning it off has not done a thing.

Thank you!

I don't want to have to download additional apps just to fix something apple broke. Thank you.

I honestly don't know what stage manager or mission control are, or how to use them.

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

if you still have an issue— go back to terra firma and turn off all these extras...and compare you results:

ref: your mission Control

View open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac

ref: your Stage Manager

Organize your Mac desktop with Stage Manager

You're welcome. Sorry your having an issue but none of my Macs tile without Tiling enabled. So it's apparently an issue local to your Mac.

If you tried Leroy's suggestion to boot into Safe Mode and restarting didn't fix it, then install EtreCheck and post the report. Allow Full Disk Access.

You may what to review all the information in the below link regarding Tiling Windows in macOS

Tile windows on Mac

As this is a feature, built into the operating system

Should this not be to one's likings.

Or they are of the belief something should be changed / removed

By all means, use the  Product Feedback - and make it known to Apple regarding this ongoing issue

Though, at this late stage in the development of macOS 15 Sequoia

It is doubtful Apple will make serious changes to this version of macOS

Probably, most of Apple Resourses have been shifted to ironing out the last bugs / fixes to the yet to be creased macOS 26 Tahoe

Hello, I did try this and it still is keeping that 5mm from the top. The side seems to have been resolved, which is nice. But still a 5mm strip at top where the windows will NOT allow any window to be put no matter what. And in a screen of 20cm that 5mm is still visible. I don’t understand why the tiles keep bouncing off that 5mm spot.
