U.S. English keyboard symbols changed on MacBook Air

On the MacBook Air, M2 chip, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1

The keyboard has changed symbols

examples

-question mark key gives a Ç symbol

-@ symbol gives a !

-! symbol gives a ¡

I have confirmed the keyboard settings to be in U.S. English language.

How do I revert it back to a standard U.S. English keyboardÇ

When you go to "all input sources", could you tell us what item you had there besides US or ABC? The changes you describe do not fit any of the many input sources I am familiar with. ¡ is pretty much confined to Spanish, but it is located at +/= on an English keyboard, not on Shift 1.
