How to sign in to iCloud.com with Apple ID password instead of Mac login?

New things at icloud.com website? When I go to login box it shows "Do you want to sign in to icloud.com with your Apple Account (example: xxx@me.com), which is my icloud login, so below that it says "Sign in with Password".... Then I notice the words: "Sign in with Apple" - "Continue to sign in on Safari for the user "xxx"("xxx" hidden name here, which is the name I use when logging into this iMac desktop computer) then "enter your password to allow this"... whereupon I put in my me.com password but it doesn't work. I then tried my login with my computer password and it works and opens the icloud.com site.

I didn't do any changes anywhere, so why did this change? I want to use my regular me.com password to login to the icloud.com website like it used to do, so how can I make it do that again? Also why did this change when I didn't ask for such to happen?

Here's pics of windows I see when tried to login to icloud.com website:

Your Apple Account password is stored in Keychain, which is in your computer's local storage. That is why it's asking for your computer password - to grant access to your list of saved passwords. It then automatically fills in your Apple Account password so that the website login can proceed.

To verify this, next time, instead of clicking "Sign In with Password," click the text button that says "Use a different Apple Account." You can still use the same Apple Account, but it simply lets you input it manually. Then you can type your Apple Account email and password.
