Alarm Clock settings are messed up

I went to set my alarm last week and it's completely different screen and setup. As far as I can figure out, it's linked to health and target hours of sleep. All I want to do is set my alarm to wake me up. Now you have to change your settings every time you want to set an alarm. You have to shorten the hours you want to sleep to reach wake up time. Just too much nonsense. Any way to go back to how alarm was before most recent upgrade?

Sounds like you were using wake up alarms with the Sleep Schedule. You can open the Health app > Tap Browse in the bottom-right > Sleep > Scroll down to your Schedule and tap Full Schedule and Options > Turn off Sleep Schedule. Then you can go back to setting alarms in the Clock app.

Soon as you turn off sleep schedule a prompt says you can no longer set alarm.

The prompt means the alarm solely setup from the Sleep Schedule. You can continue to set an alarm with the Clock app which will work fine with or without the Sleep alarm. You can test it by turning the Sleep Schedule off then setting an alarm from the Clock app for a few minuets in advance. The clock app alarm and sleep alarm are different.
