I have a new Apple Watch Ultra 2 and all of a sudden the watch does not charge and obviously doesn’t start. Actually having it on the charger it gets extremely hot without showing any sign of been charged

A new watch is under warranty. Contact Apple Support, 1-800-MYAPPLE, to replace the watch. Or take the watch to the Genius Bar in an Apple retail store.

As Dah-veed suggested, it is busted, take it in to be repaired under warranty.
in addition, if that happens when using the supplied charging puck then it is definitely a fault.
