White screen after Venmo app update on iPhone 16 Pro

I updated my Venmo app Wednesday and have been unable to open it since then. I click on the app and it opens a white screen. I have done all of the troubleshooting steps and nothing is working.

If the Venmo app freezes immediately on launch and shows only a blank screen with a faint blue bar at the bottom (where the logo should appear), the fix that finally worked for me was resetting the display settings. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size and set the slider back to the default middle position (100%). Then go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Zoom (or View) and set it to Standard, not Zoomed. This solved the issue instantly after months of failed troubleshooting, updates, and reinstall attempts. Hope this helps someone else dealing with the same frustrating freeze.

This is a common issue after some Venmo updates. The app gets stuck on a white screen if something goes wrong with the update or cache.

What you can try:

  • Delete the Venmo app completely and reinstall it from the App Store.

  • Restart your iPhone after reinstalling.

  • Make sure you’re on the latest iOS 18 version and that Venmo is updated to the newest release.

  • If it still doesn’t work, it’s likely a bug in the latest Venmo update, so the only fix is to wait for Venmo to push another update.

So the problem isn’t with your iPhone — it’s the app itself.
