iOS26 update on iPhone 15 ruined wireless charging

After updating my iPhone 15 to iOS26, my qi2 wireless charger keep turning on and off. Though my phone is constantly showing charging, the battery keeps dropping while connected.

Also tried with other phones(not iPhone) works fine, the charger does not disconnect.

I have been using this wireless charger with my iPhone for the past 1year never had any issue.

Never had an issue with wireless charging before, but since the 17.4.1 update, the same phone in the same charger that's worked for a few years doesn't work anymore. I tried a different wireless charger and the wireless charger built into my car and they don't seem to work either (though both were fine before the upgrade). I also tried a relative's iPhone on my chargers and all of them work fine. The phone seems to connect to the charger okay - I see the green charging indicator and all seems well. About a minute later, the charging stops. This happens regardless of how much battery life is left on my phone - when I first noticed it, my phone was at 38%, but it occurs no matter what. I've tried rebooting the phone, killing running apps and everything else I can think of, but nothing makes a difference. My iPhone is model MG9N3LL/A.

iPhone 15 wireless charging not working since 17.2 Since upgrading to iOS my iPhone 15 no longer charges wirelessly (with a case on). My phone has a Mous Limitless 5.0 case and I have Pixel stand 2 wireless charger. Prior to the update, everything worked, post update it doesn’t charge. When you first place it on the charger it says charging, but then stops and within a few seconds says charging again and this cycle repeats but battery depletes overnight. I tried my wife’s Pixel stand 2 and same issue. I tried my wife’s phone on my Pixel stand, no issue, so chargers seem fine. I tried removing the case on my phone and it charges without issue. So it would seem something has changed in the software and was wondering if there is anything I can do, other than needing to remove case every night as that’s super annoying. Is anyone else having similar issue? Does anyone have a wireless charger that works with the same phone/case/iOS combination?

iPhone 15 Pro wireless charging issue Sometimes my phone will wirelessly charge fine. Other times, it will get warm on the charger but not charge, even though the phone indicates it's charging. This happens on two different chargers. What am I doing wrong?

I have the same issue. The wireless chargers I have were working fine with every other iOS version on my 15 max pro. After installing iOS 26 none of them work. Just as you described..when I place the phone on the charger at night they indicate they are charging but stop and start slow charging or not at all leaving the battery almost dead in the morning. one is a magsafe and another is just a reg qi2.

They all still work with my wife's iPhone 12 which is still on iOS 18.

Since Apple claims the phones support qi2 charging the brand of charger should not matter. Also since they all did work with the same hardware at one point something in the software update caused the issue clearly.

My wife has a 16 pro max and after going to iOS 26 wireless charging is toast and my 17 pro max pre loaded with iOS 26 also won't wireless charge. We have tried now 14 different chargers including out vehicles. Apple needs to get a move on with a fix.

Update2: Switching off the phone helps to keep the connection stable but it becomes a 'slow charger'.

I think this means it is not detecting the qi2 successfully, but wireless charging is working.

But restarting your phone every time to wirelessly charge is very annoying, also very slow.

Update3: Even after updating to the latest iOS 26.0.1, the issue still exists.

Iphone 15 pro max - same issue after the 26.1 updated. Wireless charging just stopped working. I checked it on 2 different wireless charges, which still can charge airpods.

UPD: phone reboot resolved the issue.
