Potential issues with iOS 26 update

The ios 26 update has removed functionality of the Apple Phone, Messages, Email, and Calendar applications. This is a huge problem. I cannot make any phone calls even if an emergency were to happen. I have to constantly restart my phone to see a text message and then restart it again and wait extended periods of time to send one back. This is completely unacceptable that so many customers pay a lot of money for a phone that does not work like a phone. Every other application works on the phone. How can you provide an update to your customers and not make sure it works properly?  

Apple Support advised me the only solution I have is to wait.  Ios 26 needs to be shelved and fixed without inconveniencing people. In the interim, please provide an option to download a "downgrade" back to the prior ios system that actually allowed the phone to work!   

Hours of my time have been wasted trying to get this 6 month old iphone 16 Pro to make a phone call or receive a text message.

I cannot perform my job without a phone – I am missing calls from customers.

In addition, for months now I have been unable to block additional spam email addresses and phone numbers. I was told there was no maximum limit. I spent hours on the phone with Apple Support managers trying to

fix the issue.  This problem has still not been addressed. I am not the only person having these issues.

Apple - Please listen to your customers and fix these problems ASAP.

There are too many bugs in this update to count. For example, in most apps, when entering text or scrolling, the content will get all jumbled up. If it happens while typing in a text box, the text will disappear randomly.

my front camera stopped clicking selfies but captures videos and the funny thing is i can click selfies from app like instagram, facebook.

Also my face id got disabled i tried to reset it but it does not let me set it up.

iPad OS26, Apple notes not saving mark ups to PDF files. They won't even save the mark ups via saving the pdf file to files. I can prove this via screen recording. Can't trust Apple notes for a single second now, I've lost so much data while being a Uni student after updating to OS26. I've considered downgrading until this is fixed, but I can't seem to find anyone else that has the same issues with OS26

Calls not working. Mostly outgoing. Also, Apple Maps is being weird and glitchy. When in use (i.e. navigating somewhere), the bar at the bottom that shows ETA/miles left/minutes left flashes as a solid black bar. Repeatedly. The keyboard is also not great. I know my fingers aren’t super skinny, but I’ve never had this many typo and auto correct issues until the iOS 26 update. Also, speaking of auto correct, what I mistype is being auto corrected to things it never did before. And far too often, I have to be ridiculously careful when typing certain letters as the keyboard thinks I’m tapping an adjacent key when I am most definitely not.

When I answer a phone call, I can no longer choose to put it on speaker or connect to a different audio option. Sometimes it doesn’t even let me swipe to answer the phone. Most of the time when I answer, it keeps vibrating into my ear as if it’s still ringing. Also seeing major issues with alarm clock going off silently, even with the phone volume on full volume. Also I hate how erase history is no longer accessible on the same page as tabs. You have to now go into settings. So many things are not user friendly at all. I keep editing to add as I find more issues— even though I have a poster and photo set up, I can not see these while on the call anymore.

With the new IOS 26 update. My iPhone side button won’t put my phone on silent. Cant change the background back to how it was. The new feature I can barely see some of my apps because of my background picture. When trying to open up settings the app will freeze. I was able to force my phone off and back on. Please fix this and make it to where we can use the original features if we choose to for our background. Honestly if this can’t be fixed I may decide to just go back to a Samsung.

Since the 26 update (upgrade) I’ve noticed screen touch issues. It worked fine at first but now I can’t back out of apps or move from one screen to another. I’m having to close out the entire app and start over. To move around in text I’m forced to use the “space bar” because touch won’t let me drop the cursor where I need it. As days progress, the update labelled upgrade 26 is failing in more and more subtle ways. Looking forward to bug fixes, sooner rather than later please.

I had no issues with iOS 26 on my iPhone 15 Pro.

“Please fix this” is a nonsensical thing to say to other users in this user-to-user forum. Further, it is a problem with YOUR IPHONE, not hundreds of millions of others, so Apple can’t fix it by waving a magic wand. So if you want Apple to fix it make a genius bar appointment, so they can do the troubleshooting that you could probably do yourself.

I have the old flag ship model Iphone 15 Pro Max 1T. 7 days ago I updated I0S26. Extreme throttle heat and extreme charge battery loss. Then 3 days ago i had 26.0.1 hoping this would fix it. Guess what. the update bricked my iphone Stuck on the Apple Image black screen and white able loop. I hard reset the phone. Still no joy. Took the phone to Aleph who is an apple reseller in KSA saudi arabia as apple has not open shop here yet. They reset my phone to factory settings. Then the 3 days ot restore which was the most frustrating thing ever. The restore get the app you had previously on the phone and downloads these in alphabetical order. Well. Whatsapp which is the main communication app here for everything was the the very last to download. I had about 100 GB of the download to carry out over night and guess what the joy of waking up this morning and back to the black screen and white apple sign loop this morning.

It has been an almost 4 days to utter dissatisfaction of all apple products the worst I have ever had and being there. having bout every phone annually since 3G I am at my tether and contemplating the Samsung S26. Bewildered how to fix it.

After updating my iPhone 13 mini to iOS26 I can't see what I'm typing in text windows in web browsers. Why do my text windows keep disappearing? And it's extremely difficult to correct any errors because the marker isn't visible, and even if it does appear, you can't click on it. Am I the only one experiencing this on old iPhone?

I am having issues with the typing. It lags or will type words I didn’t write. It happens in apps as well.

Not entire messages will not show on group chats, I will get responses to a text that I cannot see. Or I will send a chat to a group and it will go to them individually, not appear in their group chat but appears in my group chat.

The entire phone lags. Opening is slower and loading apps is much slower.

When I click on the camera button from lock screen it will have a black screen that will not load. The little green light at the top appears but nothing else. I have to lock the phone and go into the camera setting.

My husband and son updated their phones and have had no issues.

My IPhone 16 is making weird noises after the IOS 26 update.

like it creates noise when I try to adjust the volume while on the Bluetooth device via phone itself.

And my overall volume has also reduced and I have not enabled the reduce loud noise option!!

I can’t replicate your issue; I can close any or all of them. Are you swiping half-way up, the swiping up the app screen image you want to close?

however it is bad practice to close apps that are working normally, as explained here→Do not close "background" apps | Communities. Closing apps increases battery drain (it doesn’t decrease it) and slows down your iOS device because those apps that you close must be restarted and reinitialized rather than just opening them where they were left off.
