iOS 26. It listens to my streaming services and sometimes it obeys commands of the actors. For example when someone said search for a new CEO a drop-down menu appeared in front of the screen and it searched for a CEO.

If your content has anything that sounds like “Siri” it will listen to audible content, then try to do a search. As a first step go to Settings/Apple Intelligence & Siri and change the voice prompt to “Hey, Siri”, or turn it off completely and use the side button to invoke Siri.

Please do a forced restart.

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If that fails to resolve the issue, you need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

CarPlay is an absolute dumpster fire with iOS 26. I updated last night and today while traveling I have had at least a dozen different problems when using CarPlay. Phone calls not working, apps freezing, my car stereo shutting down inexplicably, multiple calls showing as active at the same time with no audio, control buttons failing to do anything, inability to answer incoming calls, screens locking up, inability to reboot the phone because it’s frozen…. And those are only the ones I can easily remember. You’ve basically turned my phone into a paperweight. Who quality checked this joke of a release?????? And my only reversion option is to wipe my phone back to a clean slate and start over? Steve Jobs would’ve cleaned house over there.

Within the last week, the Podcast app has stopped playing a majority of the episodes for the Markley, Van Camp, & Robbin’s show. When I try to select an episode, it states “ this episode is Temporarily unavailable. Try again later.”

I have restarted my iPhone 16 Pro Max (updated to IOS 26.1), unfollowed the show, deleted/reinstalled the app, and re-followed the show to no avail.

Anyone else having this issue?

I did send feedback to Apple but only after posting here. They haven’t really had time to respond yet. Thanks for your feedback.

Just so you know, Apple doesn't respond when you send feedback through the feedback link. It doesn't mean they didn't read what you said. Just don't expect a response back. But I encourage anyone who is having an issue with CarPlay to use the link. The more who do, the more it will be looked at on the Apple side.

It seems like most of the problems I’ve seen people mentioning on Reddit and other platforms involves simply not being able to connect via wireless CarPlay after the update. My problems were far more random and occurred after I had successfully connected. Teams works fine but my phone functions are toast. I guess it’s possible the my car has issues with iOS26 which obviously Apple doesn’t control, but yet it worked fine yesterday on 18.x and today I was unable to use my phone over CarPlay at all on 26.0.1 because of a bunch of odd performance issues. I’ll figure it out but wish I could easily revert to 18 without starting over and then I’d just wait for a while before trying 26 again. Thx for your input, sincerely.

Since I'm not an engineer, nor someone who works for Apple, all any of us can do is to draw observational conclusions. And that would point to iOS 26. But why then do I have absolutely no issues using CarPlay on two iPhones, both running iOS 26 with two cars? I don't expect you to be able to answer that. But it points to a much harder to resolve issue, when for millions upon millions of users, iOS 26 isn't causing them issues with CarPlay. Isolating why some users are, however, is very tricky. Again given the number of cars with differing infotainment systems on the road.

All anyone can do is believe that Apple will ultimately isolate the issue and hopefully an update will roll out that will make this subject no longer important.

When I updated to IOS26 the day it came out and all subsequent updates (non beta) I did not receive any notifications whatsoever. No issues with sound like others have reported. But no notifications. After updating, it was 4 hours later and I had zero notifications-that never happens. I realized that unless I actually opened an app, I would then start receiving new notifications but only for that app. But I have plenty of apps that I don’t use all the time that notifications are enabled for but I was not receiving any unless I actually opened the app after updating to IOS26. This has happened for every single app on my phone. Even native apps and third party apps. No notification settings were changed and all notification settings were turned on. It has been incredibly frustrating and has made me miss some very important notifications

Hi, I sudently had the same issue:

  • iphone 14, iOS26 2
  • camera working well then died, noticed that zoom 0.5x was still ok, but zoom 1x and 2x not, no flashlight too
  • reinitialization of settings was useless
  • updated to 3 didn’t change anything, was almost resigned to get a new phone
  • Updated this morning to 4 and…

it magically came back to life.

Now wondering if it was really a hardware issue and I should just make a trade in, sorry apple you deal with it, or if it was a software issue!

This recent update has been a nightmare. It has drained my battery excessively over a short amount of time, and most frustratingly, there are moments when I can't make/receive texts and phone calls. The screen occasionally freezes as well, causing me to restart my phone over and over. Lately, there have been a number of older texts that I deleted more than a year ago that are showing up as new. I thought at first that my phone was crashing out on me and that I was being manipulated by Apple into having to purchase a new one, but I'm coming across a ton of video about this recent update and the similar problems others are having. Being unable to make phone calls at times followed by a "call failed" note, I want to take a moment to thank Apple (strong sarcasm) for selling me a very expensive radio.
