Apple Maps take up so much storage on my iPhone

My Apple maps has been taking up a lot of storage. It went from 3GB to 5GB and now it is 12.5 GB. I do not have anything on maps as I do not use it. I delited map When I deleted the app, it still shows 12,5 GB for documents and data and the storage is still expanding when I deleted some app Apple map get my rest space which is taking most of my phone storage. Pls help me with this issue. Thanks
