iOS 26 Call Screening not working

I’m trying to use the new Call Screening feature in iOS 26 but it doesn’t activate. I’m in Mexico, my phone language is set to Spanish (Mexico), region is Mexico, Apple Intelligence is on, Siri is on and it's language is set to Spanish (Mexico), and I’ve enabled the call screening option that asks the caller to state a reason for the call.

When I receive calls from unknown numbers it just rings normally without screening. I’ve restarted the phone and checked settings several times.

Apple’s feature availability page says Call Screening is available in Mexico, so I’m not sure what I’m missing.

Me too — ‘Ask Reason for Calling’ doesn’t work on iOS 26 when Low Power Mode is on. It works fine once I turn Low Power Mode off.

It worked for me when I switched the main iPhone language to Spanish and selected "Solicitar motivo de la llamada".

It appears to only work if you set up the iPhone main language to spanish. I normally use my phone in english. But the screening only appeared when I switched the main language to spanish.

I hope Apple adds the ability to configure the screening language independently of the iPhone main language.

Same issue here as well in the US on iOS 26 with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Main region language is set to the US with English as the primary language. All unknown numbers directly rings immediately or goes to voicemail with the call screening failing to work despite selecting it in settings. This worked fine on iOS 18. Hope Apple fixes this bug soon.
