Well, you COULD just read the thread you added to and learn how to easily fix it.

Thanks to all; I was sure I shut down safari first; actually I shut down everything, and did a restart but no success, so I just did it again and had partial success. The descriptions of my own bookmarks (insert red steaming face here...) are gone, but the little 12 year old girl programmer icons are still there. Extra gratitude to anyone who can direct me as to how to remove the icons. (I had the same issue with iPhone a few updates ago. My hair has still not grown back from where I was ripping it out in anger...) I use the computer for information. It is not a hobby or an entertainment device. I do wish Apple would cease and desist from the childish updates...I will copy and paste this to them.

Nobody seems eager to reply. Not happy that "Apple fixes" things that don't need fixing. Scrolling more to find your links is not better.

that is the fix for Tahoe. however, those of us (like the OP here) with Sequoia and safari 26, the "three dots" are MIA.

Hello jeffreythefrog, try to grant Terminal full disk access in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access.

No dots in MacOS Sequoia 15.7.1

I tried but kept on getting "Could not write domain ...". I tried as sudo too but got the message.
