How to hide message content in iMessage/text notifications on Apple Watch after watchOS 26 update?

Prior to updating watchOS 26, we had the option to hide messages when a iMessage/text message would notify you on the Apple Watch. Would like to know if there is away to hide the message until I tap on the notification

Did you disable the option to "Show Summary When Locked" in the settings for notifications and enable "Tap to Show Full Notification"?

I am having this issue too. Super frustrating. All of my other notifications come in “tap to show full notification” but messages is the only one that doesn’t… I feel like I’ve tried every combination. No dice. Please fix this bug. Thanks!

We have tried everything. It’s not working on my watch but is on my husband’s watch. We have all the settings the same. And we both have the same phone, 14 Pro.

I still haven’t found an answer for this. I have followed every solution provided and still, no change. If something changes, I’ll follow up.

I have tried everything stated to fix this. Nothing works. I’ve restarted both my phone and watch. The text message still isn’t hidden. I am not happy with this update at all
