AppleCare with Theft and Loss Issues
I got my phone stolen over 3 weeks ago and turned it on lost mode immediately and followed by filing a claim with the insurance company (AIG) associated with this AppleCare plan. The claim was then denied for not having Find My iPhone on, however, even after receiving a denial my phone updated to a different location hours away since it was never turned off. I then filed for an appeal which is supposed to take 7 business days except they kept delaying me due to "a high volume of reports." I called every two days or so to the insurance company because they wrongfully denied my claim in the first place so why should I have to wait another 7 days. Despite this, I have waited and waited to receive a result about my appeal and have unfortunately resorted to filing complaints, talking with lawyers, and sending essays and receipts to Apple and AIG but nothing has been resolved. I've looked on all of my devices and can still see my iPhone populate a location that was seen two weeks ago which shows that Find My is on, so I don't know why they are saying different. I'm now moving onto week 4 of no phone which just makes me want to buy a new one, but I've been paying for this plan for years which would turn out to be a waste. Has anyone had the same issues?
