iPhone 13 locked to unknown Apple Account after failed carrier switch
A friend acquired a newly unlocked iphone 13. He put a new account into the phone and using a family members phone number, receives a verification number. He proceeds to continue setup, sets passcode, facial recognition, etc. This is where it gets weird. Now, looking into the network lock security it was required that the current carrier remain for another 30 days, However; Having a prepaid account from another carrier he tries force feeding this sim into the phone, rebooting and attempting this and that. Putting the phone to the side for a bit he returns to see it saying "Software update complete" and then would proceed to say that the phone was locked to the owner and was demanding he login. It would accept the passcode but he did not remembered his account username. He tried putting in the family members phone number for info and verification only to be told it was not valid or usable. Knowing the password and with the use of a PC he narrows down the username, puts in the correct password now only to be told that his account is now security locked. He goes through the process to unlock and is told during the security questions his birthday in inaccurate, giving on several attempts, different phone numbers for him to verify for use. Non of which were the number of the family member previously used nor any number he recognized. What shall he do? Support offers no assistance.
