iPhone 15 Pro screen brightness issue after iOS 26 update

Most likely all iPhone 15 pro max are having this issue on ios 26.. this much lower level of brightness was never unlocked in the 15 pro max (was touted as a feature in the 16 pro.. hahaha). Lol.. still a lot to fix in ios 26

Same issue on iPhone 16e with iOS 26.0.1. My iPhone is close to unusable in the daytime except indoors in gloomy rooms. What is this nonsense?

I have though been wondering if this impiously dimming of my iPhone screen somehow may be related to the case having a built-in magnet for clinging to a metal holder. The iPhone case is a really good Smartish GRIPZILLA - but can its MagSafe feature influence an iPhone so the screen is dimmed? A rather silly question, I'm afraid - but after having tried every trick on WWW I'm ready for any bypassing straw.

15PM same thing. 26.0.1 did not fix it.

Really ****** off at myself for upgrading to this buggy sofware across the entire lineup of products.

Previous version worked like a charm and I had really hoped all was going to be the same with this one.

Tried this. It did not worked at all. After unlocking my iPhone 15 Pro Max, the screen keeps dimmed. It has to be something related with iOS 26 turning off the light sensor service when locking the phone.

Still having the same issue. Updated to ios 26.1 and nothing changed. It's really frustrating for us, iphone 15 promax users. I will try to report somehow to apple team. keep you posted. Until then, we need more activity here to keep the post alive.

Just an update. I didn’t do anything and accepted as my fate. But I must admit it’s happening less often. Don’t know why but it happens now on my iPhone 15 pro max once in a day after 2-3 days

I think it’s some sort of algorithm learning process from the phone hence Apple isn’t addressing it.

no matter what, it’s annoying. Apple needs to fix it.

There have been several updates to this thread and obviously Apple is not interested in correcting the issue. Their only interest is to develop software for the latest model and ignore the bugs that it creates in hope that consumers will dump their perfectly good “old” device and buy the shiny new one.

Still not fixed with iOS 26.2 Release. I've reported the bug to Apple, also referring to this thread and stating that it is likely an iPhone 15 Pro exclusive issue.

I will also try/test to deactivate the liquid glass setting on lockscreen clock now.

17PM here running ios26.2. Issue still persists. It's extremely annoying. I've tried every display setting change suggested and a few others I can find, and also resets, etc. It still does it. FIX THIS APPLE!

I get that you’re frustrated. But in multiple places users, like you and me, are alerted to the fact Apple does not participate here. You’re posting to other users, not Apple employees. Volunteers, like me and others, care enough about other users to try and point them to possible solutions to their issues.

I understand that you came here looking for solutions. I would too. Solutions lay with the links and information I shared. If you want solutions you have the path. If you came here to whine and express your frustration, we get it. I wish you nothing but the best and hope you can find a way forward that accomplishes your goals.

Apple closed my feedback as “Unable to diagnose”, but the issue is still present on 26.2.1.

This affects basic device usability (screen unreadable after wake).

Please confirm whether Apple is actively working on a fix.

Same here iPhone 15 Pro Max started with the iOS 26 update. I keep thinking the newer updates or more recent updates will fix the issue but has not yet.—— I have also restored the iOS no success on a resolution yet

Абсолютно такая же история с яркостью на iPhone 15 Pro Max. Уже два обновления пришло, так ничего и не починили. iOS 26.3.

Приходится каждый раз блокировать, чтобы яркость стала на свое место. Всю жизнь пользуюсь автояркостью, и не готов ее отключить! Почините!!!!
