eSIM transfer on EE UK and iMessage won’t activate? Solution.
If iMessage on your eSIM phone number won’t activate, but email will even after taking the usual steps (check date/time, turn off/on, reset network settings), the answer is on device somewhere and to do with the eSIM. Neither EE nor Apple will find any fault. The solution is to get a new eSIM, which you can do for free very quickly and easily using the EE app. (EE App > Manage > Make sure correct phone number is selected > scroll down > check settings > replace by SIM/eSIM). Once the new eSIM is active, iMessage will instantly activate and the old line will also become inactive in settings. This does not change your phone number. It’s a just a new eSIM for the same phone number you’re installing.
