High pitched noise on AirPods Pro 3

First day of use and out of nowhere I start getting a high pitched noise from my left AirPod. The sound comes when either changing listening modes, or adjusting it in my ear. Others have had this issue and even when getting a replacement pair it does it again. Software bug or warranty?

I’ve been experiencing this issue only with my left AirPod. In my case, switching to a larger ear tip solved it. It seems like my left ear canal is slightly larger than my right one, and the original M tip didn’t seal properly, which caused a high-pitched sound.

I got the new airpod pro 3s on pre order when they first came out, i was pretty upset when the left bud was producing a high pitched ringing sound. I went to the apple store to replace the left bud after trying all of the Troubleshooting suggestions. The new replacement airpod was doing the same thing, so I went back to the apple store and they replaced the whole airpod set, and the new left bud is STILL making the same high pitched ringing sound. After 3 left buds with the same mistake, im curious if I am having terrible luck of the draw, or if my left ear just isn't compatible with the new airpods. I hope apple fixes this issue asap.

Great deduction, Glen. It ties in what I was thinking/saying before. I recognize the same elements.. moisture in my ear(s) after a shower, squeals beginning after a couple of hours riding my bike, a noise problem that was gone the next day only to start again after a couple of hours. I returned my third pair to Apple, got a refund and bought a pair od AP Pro 2's but your reply almost makes me want to go out and buy another pair of AP Pro 3's so I can try your solution. Power to you (and NZ)! :)

Have you send this observation to Apple?

I think (yes, I guess), in the meantime Apple knows exactly what the reason for the feedback/pitch noise is. Working on a solution? If they can fix it with a firmware update - yes. If it is a problem related to the "construction" then ... probably no.

It might be a "temporary fix" for your specific case (biking for some hours), but really not usable during a flight. The pitches sound comes back sometimes every few minutes. The only "solution" (well, what forked for me), is the 180° thing (without drying or removing something from the AirPods).

To me, I don't really care what the reason is. The AirPods Pro 3 are not usable for the purpose of using them during flights (with ANC) as long as Apple offers not a solution by a Firmware update.
