But

All this comes with a lot of bugs / design issues

1 : on safari browser there is this weird border op top left

and the left sidebar is messed up

2 : Theme issues in notification panel and the control center, the control center & notification panel widgets are in light mode although the widgets change based on the theme selected on icons & widget style but its still a bug

lot of other stuff too ...

IMHO the new theme was not very well thought out. Among many poor decisions was increasing the radius of the rounded corners. Besides being visually unappealing (IMHO), you end up with this:

That's the corner cutting off the scroll bar of the System Settings window. Maybe the designers decided it was okay, or maybe they didn't consider it. Either way, it comes across as amateurish.

I also find window edge elements - title bar, status bar, scroll bars, etc. - to be a bit too large, resulting in a "chunky" appearance that looks imbalanced, somewhat dwarfing the folder elements, not to mention using that much more screen real estate. And moving the folder name to the left...why? Especially when the information of the status bar is still centered. It just looks off, having all of the title bar elements on one side.

I've come across some non-theme bugs as well, although maybe they have to do with apps needing to be updated after updating the OS to Tahoe. For example, Firefox randomly forgot all of the autocompletes I relied on for frequently visited websites, but not immediately after the OS update, it was several restarts later. (I did not change anything with Firefox in that time.) Sometimes Linear Mouse would not launch (I have it as a startup item, but even if I try to launch it manually, it can take multiple tries). And if I have multiple browser windows open, sometimes one window would become inaccessible by mouse click or by Cmd-` until I switch to a different app and back again. I regret updating from Sequoia, which I already didn't like due to the iPhonification of the UI since Ventura.

I saw nowhere where OP said that they expected there to be no bugs... they're just pointing out the issues, which is warranted because this update indeed has a lot of bugs...

What good does it do to point them out here. We can't do anything about them.

I guess if you are looking for confirmation so you can file a bug report, that might be a reason, but it doesn't appear to be the case.

There are many many Mac users like me - fully in the Mac ecosystem, multi-hour a day users, dependent on Mac for our work and personal lives. The 'good' that comes from these critical conversations by proper experts like you is to allow users like me to make an informed decision about, in this case, whether to 'upgrade' to OS Tahoe.

What I read here is, DON'T. So I will sit tight for a few more weeks or months, until this forum becomes more positive about Tahoe.

For which, many thanks.

I Beg to disagree with you that people do similar complaining of issues from pervioius OS. The problems are when you are using features that help you expedite yourwork and those are no longer availabie and it is costing you more time. That cost you more money to run your business. Yes its great at times to have new features. But when features are removed and featrues are not working the way they should and cause you to spend more time doing a task is not good.

It’s just whining when you’re complaining to people who can do nothing to change the outcome. If Tahoe is missing features that you can’t manage to survive without, contact Apple. There is not a single person here that can bring that feature back to you.
