Broken Face ID after battery replacement

I had the battery replaced in my iPhone 11 Pro Max the Face ID has not worked since. The battery is a non-genuine Apple part.

I’ve read that non-genuine parts can create faults in the system of the phone.

If I have the phone battery replaced for a genuine battery, will this restore the Face ID or is the Face ID now permanently damaged?

Have definitely learned my lesson - genuine Apple parts all the way from here…

Although a non Apple battery can cause issues, it is more likely that the tech who replaced your battery damaged something in the phone when doing the replacement.

Even if (and that's a very unlikely if) Apple put a genuine battery in you phone, it probably won't fix the face ID issue. Your TrueDepth camera is damaged.

You can certainly ask Apple, but don't be surprised if they refuse service on the phone. Apple typically won't touch an iPhone which has been tampered with. An unfortunate lesson to learn, for sure.
