iPhone 17 Pro Max overheating with hard plastic case during gaming

I recently got the 17 Pro max and I’ve noticed that it gets rather warm when I’ve been gaming on it for a while. (Pokémon Go) I know it has a super strong aluminum case, but I also got a screen protector and a hard plastic phone case for it due to the expense of the phone. This model is supposed to dissipate heat much better than older models, so I was a little surprised when I noticed the heat. It’s not a terrible heat, but a definite increase in the temp of the phone. Should I remove the hard plastic case? Could the case be “keeping the heat in” and making it more difficult for the heat to dissipate?

There is no way to completely stop a phone from getting warn, especially when doing graphic intensive things like gaming, which taxes a battery the most. But let's define Overheating. Overheating is when an iPhone stops working and displays a thermometer, with a message saying the phone can't be used until it cools down. If you're not seeing such a graphic nor message, your phone is NOT overheating. Your phone has very sophisticated thermal protection built in. Gaming will naturally produce heat and would not be cause for concern. Even with the new vapor chamber to help dissipate heat, gaming will generate heat and you can't prevent that.
