Support Sign In to App Store in macOS VMs on Apple Silicon

macOS VMs on Apple Silicon:

macOS 15 and later support iCloud sign in macOS Settings. Use iCloud on a virtual machine - Apple Support


However, when trying to sign in to App Store in the same virtual machine, the dialog returns "An unknown error occurred."


Latest tested: Parallels Desktop 26 and macOS 26 host/guest.

Apple is actually trying to explain it nicely in the macOS Settings, Apple account pane:


As all solutions have use Virtualization framework to run macOS VMs on Apple Silicon Mac computers, it is not Parallels specific.


While Xcode can be downloaded from https://developer.apple.com/download/applications/ and some apps are available outside of App Store, this limitation still significantly limits applicability of macOS VMs. For example: for testing App Store apps in different versions of macOS.


Please post your macOS VM usage scenarios that require this to work.
