How do tracking device notifications work, and what triggers them?

Hii

I’m Naama and recently me, and my friends were wondering about the following tracking devices notifications you guys send

Can you explain how the algorithm works?

How do you know it is following you, and not just around you. What is the minimum distance or time it needs to be with you to get a notification about it?

Apple doesn’t send tracking notification, though Apple iPhone and iPad devices and Google Android devices can locally detect and report unrecognized Find My network tracker devices that might be traveling with a person.

Apple also does not specifically document the details of how or when or why the tracker detection might operate, and the details can likely also vary.
