Apple Watch SE not connecting with new Iphone 17

Hi There,

I recently got my new Iphone 17 and have switched everything over from my old Iphone 13. My Apple watch SE has been having trouble connecting to the new IP17 however. I have resetted the watch to connect as new, but still does not work. Does anyone have a solution?

Why cant I connect my new iPhone 16 to my Apple Watch SE? Bluetooth is on, Wi-Fi is on, cellular data is on, these are my devices registered to my Apple ID. It does not show up when I try and pair it through the Apple Watch app on my iPhone 16.

Did you already install the latest iOS 26.0.1 on your iPhone?

Did you restore your new iPhone from the backup of the old iPhone, before you paired the watch to the new iPhone?

yes i did, to both your questions. But it still isn't connecting for some reason…
