Upgraded macOS Tahoe to 26.0.1 over a week ago. Mac is mac mini M4 (2025) with 512 GB. ALL has worked fine until yesterday (Oct 3, 2025) when 4 out of 5 iCloud email accounts refused to load. What do I do to get them back up and running? BTW 2 different iPads and 2 different iPhones and 2 different Apple watches are all fully upgraded and working fine.

I have hesitated to respond to the suggestions that have been submitted, especially by AlWeir. Thank you for trying, Al. The reason for my hesitance has been the problem went away on its own. First 1 of the 5 cleared up. Then a day later another one cleared up. At this point I was elated. Then, on the next day, 2 more came back. Now I figured that since the remaining one was not used at all, just a vestige of the past, I deleted it from macOS mail and all 4 are continuing to work properly.
In my search for a solution the only thing I could find as a possible cause was that the accounts were not using the correct outgoing servers. I typed in the correct ones but it didn't seem to make any difference. But then, the next day they were OK. I can't figure out the real cause of the problem, so I hope the next "Bug Update" that seems to be coming out soon will kill more bugs than it creates.

The 2iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 AppleWatches were never affected with this problem; and yes I could log into iCloud accounts on them. The only device that had the problem was the M4 Mac mini; and it went away on its own as outlined above.
I’m having the same issue and some others with messaging since the update. When I click on the exclamation point next to the emails it says for icloud mail: “Connections to the Server P38-imap.mail.me.com on the default ports timed out”
In every case, including my gmails, (I have many) there is a timeout error for the imap.
How do you fix this?

Tried using a Microsoft mail client, as Exchange is a Microsoft scheme?

Another spellcheck workaround, instead of putting an intentional spelling mistake in:
When you have finished spellchecking and it hangs , return to the document, find an empty line, and add a space and a paragraph return.
When the cursor moves to the new line, it will send.
I fixed it by going third-party. Not to plug an app, but I went with Grammarly. It handles writing and spelling in Mac Mail and everything else. Makes me look smarter, too. I am sure there are other third-party apps, but this is the one I found, and it works. Like most third-party apps, it runs circles around the Apple Engineers. Steve Jobs would be turning over in his grave if he saw how the company has become so MS-ish.
Apple MAIL application crashes severely very often under Tahoe 26.2, often causing mails under composition or sending to disappear. This is serious for such a critical service as mail service. Please fix this obvious bug.
I have exact issue. Multiple yahoo account and even iCloud and gmail don’t work on Tahoe 26.0.1 Mac, but all work great on iPad and iPhone. Have deleted internet accounts and te added several times.
Trying to trouble shoot when you are not sitting in front on the mac that is causing trouble can be just as frustrating as it is for the person sitting in front of the troubled mac.
I've got exactly the same problem. Tried everything. Nothing works. Tomorrow I have a scheduled phone call from the apple support. Let's hope they'll be able to do something about it.
Since you have 2 ipads, 2 iPhones and 2 Watches, could you not log into one of your iCloud accounts on each device?
Being that 26.01 is beta - is there a way to revert back to 26?
