MacBook Pro not charging with MagSafe light on

Hello

My macbook pro has stpped charging

Theres is light on the charger when plugged into the mag safe socket

All i get is this image on the screen and no matter how long i leave it it doesnt charge

2015 Macbook pro no longer charging from Magsafe 2 charger, but macbook air is? So I have a 2015 macbook pro which has a magsafe2 60w charger. It has always worked fine until my son borrowed it for his macbook air. I assumed that he had been rough with it when it no longer lit up the light and didnt charge my macbook pro any more after I got it back. I tested it on his macbook air and it is charging his ok. So I tried resetting the pram and then resetting the SMC on my macbook Pro but it still want working. Eventually the battery ran out and the macbook died, just showing the red battery connect to power icon on the screen, but it isnt charging anymore when I connect the charger?

MacBook MagSafe not charging I charge my Mac the whole night and it shows that it is charging on the mag safe light but then 12 hours later it is on 17% and even though the light is on the mag safe charger it says that it is not charging so how do you suppose I use it for school in 15 minutes?

Also closely inspect the MagSafe port and connector for debris or signs of arcing (black smudges) If simply dirty use a dry cotton swab to clean them.

If you see black smudges, you need to have Apple evaluate.

you can try the steps in Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support and see if that helps.
