Battery Health Dropped by 1% After Updating to iOS 26.0.1

Hello Apple Support Team and Community,

I recently updated my iPhone to the latest iOS 26.0.1, and I noticed that my Battery Health dropped by 1% immediately after the update.

My iPhone is just 6 months old, has been well maintained, and I always use original Apple accessories. Before the update, the Battery Health was at 100%, but right after installing the new iOS version, it suddenly dropped to 99%.

I understand that battery calibration can change slightly after updates, but it’s concerning to see this drop happen instantly on such a new device.

Could someone from Apple or the community please clarify if this is a normal recalibration behavior after the iOS 26.0.1 update, or if this could indicate a potential battery performance issue caused by the update?

Would really appreciate any insights or official clarification on this.

Thank you!

Hitesh

The battery health will be calculated new after an iOS date or upgrade.

And depending on the use of your iPhone, it may have already lost one percent of the battery capacity.

Usually an iPhone battery should reach 80% after two years of normal use. It took my iPhone 12mini battery almost four years to reach 80%, but I only use the iPhone for calls, mails and messages, no gaming or streaming.
