Secondary eSIM is currently used on another phone?

A family member gave me their old iPhone and that phone number is still listed as a secondary eSIM. I tried calling him and on the phone number the secondary eSIM my phone is attached to, and it worked. Can I safely delete the secondary eSIM from my phone without impacting his service? I thought esims could only be connected to one device.

Yes, this eSIM should be reset. Resetting this eSIM will not affect other devices.


Here is the transfer sequence the family memory will need to follow:

This ownership transfer sequence can be mostly performed remotely by the family member.
