"Block Caller" option is missing in iOS 26.0.1 on my iPhone SE

mac ios 26.0.1 se 2022 - I try to block a phone number from the recents screen; when I press the Info button, the next screen doesn't offer a Block Caller option. Somehow this option disappeared with the iOS update to 26 or 26.0.1, why.

Plus my battery life is now terrible even after turning off all the bells and whistles. What is up with that?

Hello MakesyougoMmmmm, When I spoke with the Apple Customer Rep about my issue of not having an option to "Block Caller", we did a screen share, so he was able to see for his self the lack of said option. I doubt that I was the first to bring this issue to Apple's attention, nevertheless, his response was that "They" were working on it, though he was away from the phone for several minutes before he came back with that response. That's all that I know. At the time and presently I'm running iOS 26.0.1 on a SE 2022. I should have asked about my issue with a wider perspective in mind, as to whether other iPhone models were experiencing the same issue. In future I will try to think in a broader dimensions.

  1. Is this your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management iPhone? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate//organisation/enterprise/School Management
  2. If it is your device, in that case, do you have any profile installed by your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management?
    1. Erase the profile added by you If you have installed a profile on your own --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
    2. Or please contact the system administrator of the organisation who provided the profile to you

A corporate profile installed on your iPhone could potentially be contributing to the inaccessibility of certain features.

Here's why:

  • Restrictions: Corporate profiles can have restrictions placed on apps and functionalities. These restrictions might be limiting some activity, causing it to be unresponsive or quit.
  • Managed Apps: IT departments might deploy specific navigation apps through the profile, potentially blocking certain functions or features.
  • Security Settings: Corporate profiles often have stricter security settings that could affect app or function behavior. This might be causing unexpected behavior of an App or functions.

Here's what you can do:

  • Check with IT: The best course of action is to contact your IT department. They can explain the restrictions set by the corporate profile and see what is affected. They might be able to adjust settings or suggest alternative apps or features approved for corporate use.
  • Look for App Conflicts: See if your IT department uses a different app through the corporate profile. Conflicting apps might cause crashes.

Additional points to consider:

  • Even if the profile isn't directly affecting the function, it's still a good idea to check with IT. They might be aware of similar issues and have workarounds.
  • While troubleshooting, make sure you prioritize safety. Don't fiddle with your phone.

By working with IT and considering these possibilities, you can hopefully identify if the corporate profile is the culprit and find a solution that allows you to use the iPhone to your liking.

Two IPhone SEs here on 26.1 have this issue. I have found that powering down and restarting one of them brings the Block Caller button back - but only once. If I dismiss that Info page and then return to it the Block Caller button is gone. On the other phone a restart fails to bring it back at all. I have sent feedback to Apple, but I suspect that an issue on a discontinued model will be low priority (so I'm glad to see it also happens on some iPhone 17s!)

I have a SE2 that I use with Verizon that HAD the "Block Caller" option located from the Recents page. This was prior to Apple's iOS update to 26 et al, I might add. If I follow LD150's suggestion of Dec. 4, 2025 post and click "Details" all I get is a gray screen all the way to the bottom of the screen. Here again I am able to do the long version by going to Settings; Apps; Phone; Call Blocking & ID block calls blah, blah, blah, but that's inconvenient as one should be able to Block directly from the individual "Call Info" page. I've made two feedback posts over as many months. Plus, since the iOS 26 update my battery life has decreased even though I have all the bells and whistles turned off.

I have mac ios 26.1, 2nd gen iphone SE purchased in 2022. What I've found is when I click the Info button next to the phone number and first scroll down the page appears mostly blank. I scroll past the Call History section and it's just a blank page at the bottom. But when I wait several minutes information starts gradually appearing and, eventually, the Block Contact shows up at the bottom of the page. I'm talking at least 10 minutes before it shows up, but it eventually does.

OMG you are correct, took mine about 15 minutes, line by line. Puts a new and puzzling line of investigation on it.

Oren198 just sent me a good workaround. He proposed to add the number to your contacts and then, the option to block the contact appears. There is even a simplier solution, avoiding to add such kind of dirty numbers in your contacts. Choose 'Add name' instead -> then give a name such as 'Spam' -> and then the option appears 'block contact' (it's great as in your recent calls, only the given names appears). It works for me on my iphone SE 2022, hope it will work for you guys.

I have since spoken to a EX programmer / Coder used to work for Apple.....interesting to say the least.

The whole idea of reducing Battery life & making life difficult from Apple for all of us is for the 'Customer' you & me to go out & purchase a NEW phone!! My ex Apple employee advises keep hammering Apple to change this ideology of many years to fix these problems. The Apple answer to this is is you have a phone that is 3-5 yrs old, they are NOT interested as per the complaints & answers on this platform. Im off to purchase a 'Samsung' ive had enough of being cast aside by 'outsourced' so called programmers that are paid about $20 an hour.
