iPhone Screen Flickering Without Any Physical Damage — Warranty Denied, Need Guidance

Hello Apple Community,

I’m experiencing a serious issue with my iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS 26.0.1) — the screen keeps blinking or flickering randomly, even though my device has no visible physical or liquid damage at all.

I recently visited an Apple Authorized Service Provider in Lalitpur, Kumaripati (Nepal) for inspection, but they informed me that the issue is not covered under warranty, even though the phone looks completely fine and has never been dropped or exposed to water.

Here are the details:

  • Device Model: iPhone 16 Pro Max

  • iOS Version: 26.0.1

  • Condition: No visible damage, never dropped or wet

  • Issue: Screen flickers/blinks randomly during use

  • Service Center Response: Claimed it’s internal damage and not covered under warranty

What I’ve already tried:

  • Updated and reinstalled iOS

  • Turned off Auto-Brightness, True Tone, and Night Shift

  • Restarted and reset all settings

Despite all this, the flickering continues.

I’m very disappointed because the issue started on its own, and there’s no sign of any misuse. I would really appreciate some guidance from Apple or other users who have faced a similar issue:

  1. Can I request a re-evaluation for warranty coverage?

  2. Is there any known display or hardware issue with the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

  3. What are my options if Apple refuses to cover it again?

I truly hope Apple can review this case more deeply — since this appears to be a hardware defect, not user damage.

Thank you for your time and advice. 🙏

Yes, Apple Authorized Service Providers have the right to refuse warranty repairs. It could easily be a parts issue and his inability to order necessary parts for an iPhone made for Japan. Warranty coverage will be available directly through Apple, but may involve shipping the device to a regional service center.

Thank you for your response 🙏

To clarify — my iPhone 16 Pro Max was purchased in Japan by my friend and later gifted to me. I am currently using it in Nepal.

According to Apple’s coverage check, my warranty is active until January 11, 2026, so it is still well within the warranty period.

However, when I visited the Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) in Lalitpur, Kumaripati, Nepal, they said the screen blinking/flickering issue is not covered under warranty, even though the phone has no physical or liquid damage.

I have also made a short video to clearly show the issue — the screen flickers randomly without any cracks or external damage:

Could this be a regional service limitation because the phone was purchased in Japan, or should Apple’s global warranty still cover this hardware defect?

I’d really appreciate any clarification or advice on how to proceed — whether I should contact Apple Japan Support or Apple Global Support directly for review.

Thanks again for your time and help. 🙏
