My ultra watch 2 pauses after 10 seconds when any workout activity is selected. Occasionally it won’t do this and works fine, but nine times out of ten I just can’t record my workouts. Is there an actual fix for this yet? All I can see is turning off certain settings which I don’t want to do…!

Are there tattoos underneath the sensors?
Wrist Detection is working without issues, or does the watch screen lock itself sometimes?
Did you try to force restart by pressing and holding the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
If this does not work, unpairing the watch and setting it up as a new device would be the next step:
