iPad Pro (5th Gen) Touch & Scroll Lag / Screen Unresponsiveness (iPadOS 18.7.1)
📱 iPad Pro (5th Gen) Touch & Scroll Lag / Screen Unresponsiveness (iPadOS 18.7.1)
Device: iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation)
iPadOS Version: 18.7.1
Storage: 256GB
Network: SKTelecom
Issue: Touch or scroll intermittently freezes or becomes unresponsive.
🧩 Problem Description
My iPad Pro occasionally becomes unresponsive to touch or scroll gestures, even though the display stays on.
This happens randomly — for example:
- When scrolling through Safari, YouTube, or system settings
- When switching between apps
- Sometimes the screen won’t respond for a few seconds, then suddenly works again
The issue persists even after rebooting or closing all background apps.
⚙️ Troubleshooting Tried
- Performed normal restart and force reboot (Power + Volume Up).
- Verified latest version: iPadOS 18.7.1.
- Disabled Background App Refresh and widgets.
- Reset all settings — issue still occurs.
- Checked for overheating, display protector, and case interference (none).
- Used memory optimization apps (e.g., Dr. Memory) — no noticeable improvement.
💬 Additional Notes
- The issue seems to have started after the iPadOS 18.6–18.7 updates.
- Occurs more often during multitasking or when multiple tabs are open.
- Sometimes feels like frame drops or delayed touch response.
- I’ve seen similar reports from other users after recent updates.
🛠️ Request
