If I have to guess, it may be asking for your ex's Apple Account information to update the app. If that is the case, delete the app and redownload it with your account. Normally you could try Family Sharing but since this is an ex I am thinking that that is not something you will want to do.

Unless you make a list of the ones you want, then delete all the apps, then redownload all the ones in our purchase history and look for the ones that are missing, then yes, you will have to do them one by one. If you are unsure as to which app it is, try manually updating your apps one by one, then keep an eye open for the one that asks for the ex's account.
