The model identifier of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 18,2. They are the same thing. You can see a list of the Model Identifier for most devices here:

That’s what I’m saying I did, which yes, it can easily be changed on there. However, doing that doesn’t change the name on the “Apple account” section for some odd reason. Perhaps, it’s glitched? The one I’m trading in is an iPhone 14, so somehow it’s getting confused?
  • So did it previously have that name listed at Settings > General > About > Name?
  • When you go back to Settings > General > Amount > Name, does it revert back to the old name?
  • Does your other phone show in your device list in the screen shot you posted with the same name?

If the correct name is showing at that location, then Force Restart your phone:

  • Press and quickly release Volume Up
  • Press and quickly release Volume Down
  • Press and HOLD side button until Apple Logo appears. This could take up to 15 seconds while holding the side button and you have to ignore anything else on the screen. If you do not see the Apple logo in that time, then try again as it may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence correct.
