GM Infotainment System Audio Randomly Lowers

2025 Chevy Silverado, and I connect my iPhone 15 with latest ios 26. I connect via usb-c cable to the truck's infotainment system. After connected, I will be down the road, listening to the radio, and the volume will drop significantly, then after about 15 or so seconds, the volume will return to normal. This will continue sporadically. If I get on a phone call, over the speakers, this does not occur. Only while listening to the radio. I found that putting the phone in Silent/Vibrate mode, the volume issue does not occur. This only happens when the phone is in Ring mode.

You are probably getting notifications which are announced by a voice or a "ding". When that happens the music volume, or media volume are lowered so that you can hear the announcement or "ding". Same thing happens if you are using directions on Waze or Maps.

It could be that your announcement volume is turned all the way down. Next time it happens, when the music volume goes down, turn up the volume known and see if the announcement volume goes up.

This used to happen to me until I figured it out.

Hope this helps and let us know if this solved the problem. Have a nice day.

Yes. It sounds like an alert is coming through and the volume lowers. So I already tried what you suggested and that did not work. I also still get normal alerts when the volume is working correctly. The volume will lower when a Ding will come through, but go back to normal volume afterwards. The issue I am having occurs randomly and is not associated with an alert. It almost seems like a sensitivity issue. I have also come across other users having the same issue. Thank you for your reply....

Yes, they have been contacted. I have seen the issue reported on their forums and others contacting their service departments. I was leaning towards the GM side, but when I was able to correct the issue by putting the phone in Silent mode, I wanted to check here also. I'm just investigating different and potential problems. Not saying, at this point, who's issue it really is. GM is already pointing me to Apple. That usually happens when they don't really know what is going on, even though others are reporting the issue and have acknowledged an issue earlier this year. ** I am using the phone through Carplay in the truck.
