iPhone 14 Rear camera and flashlight not working

Hi!

We have a iPhone 14 that have recently reported that the camera is not recognized.

And in settings it says "Unknown Part - Unable to determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part".

We have never repaired these phones and no damage can be shown visually on them.

Sometimes you can take a picture with 0,5x Zoom with strange colours if you spam the change camera button (as seen on one of the pictures)

I have tried factory restoring these phones to the latest iOS 26 and even done the "Diagnostic mode" and done tests.

It says that the "Camera Sensor Test - Rear Wide" had some issue.

I booked a meeting at a certified Apple Store and i went there and they said it does not go under warranty and that it would cost around 200 euro or more to repair the camera on 1 device.

It seems weird to me that Apple would not repair this since they have a Service program for the iPhone 14 plus and change the camera free of charge.

iPhone 14 Plus Service Programme for Rear Camera Issue – Apple Support

The regular iPhone 14 has a identical camera as the iPhone 14 plus, so the issue should be the same on both devices.

I am deeply dissatisfied with my support on this matter and i should not have to pay for a factory defect on the camera.

Read the service program document you linked to. It specifically states a very limited time frame of manufacture and specific serial numbers.

Apple sources camera modules from specific suppliers and parts are tracked into which devices get which camera modules.

Apple identified a series of camera modules that were defective when delivered to Apple. The defective modules were only installed in iPhone 14 Plus and were not instinctual iPhone 14. Your device is not eligible for the service program you referenced.

You need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

I asked the online chat support if it would be done free of charge since the 14 Plus had the service program. But they could not answer that.

And when i went to the Authorized Service Provider they told me that it only applied to the 14 Plus.

But as i said, it should also apply to the regular iPhone 14 since it's the same manufacture date and has identical cameras. Why should the iPhone 14 not have the same issue as the iPhone 14 Plus?
