iPhone 16 Pro Max overheating and causing hand pain during prolonged use

I have purchased an iPhone 16 Pro Max (512GB, iOS 18.2.1) in Nov 2024 and have been experiencing significant issues that are impacting my ability to use the device comfortably. I hope others can share their experiences or suggest solutions, and I’d appreciate any advice from Apple support.

1. Overheating: The phone gets uncomfortably hot during basic tasks like browsing, texting, or short calls, and especially during charging (both wired and wireless). It’s sometimes too warm to hold, even with a thin case. I’ve tried closing background apps, disabling Wi-Fi/5G when not needed, and ensuring the latest iOS update, but the issue persists. A force restart hasn’t helped either. Is this a known issue with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and are there specific fixes?
2. Hand Pain (Possible heating concern): When holding the phone, I experience pain in my hand that feels deeper than muscle strain or fatigue. It’s not related to the phone’s weight or size (I’m used to large devices). The pain feels unusual, almost like a tingling or burning sensation, and I’m concerned it could be related to radiation or EMF exposure from the device. The pain is most noticeable during prolonged use (e.g., 10-15 minutes of holding). Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be linked to the phone’s 5G or Wi-Fi components?

I’ve tried using speakerphone and keeping the phone on a stand, which helps slightly, but the pain returns when I hold it. I’m worried this could be a hardware defect or something more serious affecting my hand. I’ve checked that the SAR values are within limits, but I’d like to know if Apple has investigated similar complaints for this model.

I’m considering contacting Apple Support directly but wanted to check here first for community insights or known solutions. Has anyone resolved similar issues? Should I request a diagnostic or replacement? My phone is still under warranty, purchased less than a year ago, and I have a month of the warranty period.
