Apple ID Verification Failure

I can’t figure out why my apple account is registering that I am using a third-party device when I haven’t ever logged into my account on another device. As far as I’m aware I haven’t gotten any emails requesting that I confirm a log-in from a different account.

Tried changing my password but it says that I’ve inputted the wrong password to unlock my phone when I know I did not. It won’t let my phone update either. Not sure where to go from here.

iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.6.

This is a confusing statement because you use a passcode to unlock an iPhone. Do you have absolutely no access to the iPhone at all, or is it just getting into the level of things for changing your Apple Account settings such as your password?
