IOS 26 World Clock widget - changing default cities?

When I add the World Clock widget to my home screen in iOS26.1, it does not reflect the list of cities I have added to the World Clock list in my Clock app.

In the past, tapping on the widget would bring up the cities I have added to the Clock app, and the widget would show the first four cities in that list.

Now, however, the widget defaults to Apple’s four default cities (CUP, TOK, SYD, PAR) no matter what I do. Tapping the widget still opens the World Clock list in my Clock app, but the widget does not show the cities I have added to my list.

I’ve also tried changing the cities displayed on the widget via the “Edit Widget” option, and all I’m able to do is reorder the defaults - not add or remove any. Deleting and reinstalling the widget does not solve the problem.

Is this an iOS26.1 bug, or am I missing something?

I just tested it on my iPhone, also updated to iOS 26.1, and it works.

1. I added the World Clock widget to my home screen.

2. Made a long press on the widget, and chose "Edit Widget"

3. A list of 4 cities/countries appears

4. Tap on a city/country, and a list appears where I can choose another city/country to replace with.

5. This is done with all 4, and they now appear in my widget.

But remember there is no add/remove button, you have to tap on a country to choose another country. Also remember that the cities/countries you select in your widget do not reflect the world clocks you have inside the app itself.

I'm glad to hear that. You're welcome.

I don't normally use that widget, but when I opened it to test it, I also looked for an add/remove button, until "hey! just tap on the cities"
