Why is half of my iPhone screen blank?

Ok so my issue resolved. I had to turn off “reduce transparency” under the accessibility settings.

Accessibility->display & text size-> toggle “reduce transparency” off.

Hasn’t happened again.

Unfortunately, this fixed my issue. I had the reduce transparency enabled as the transparency appeared to slow my phone down. After disabling it, I have not seen the half screen issue any more. Seems like Apple offers a feature to improve the phone speed at the cost of functionality. Hopefully it will be fixed in 26.2.

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update, and that a different update fixed it. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

So I toggled on reduce transparency because the new update to Liquid Glass really hurt my eyes and gave me headaches. So I have this same problem with my screens being half blank, but this wouldn’t be the solution for me. Any other thoughts? Attached is an example of it

Super annoying!!! 3/4 of my screen is blank but can school at the very top to see there are messages or emails. Sometimes I can tap on the top email or text but then I have to get out of it to view what I wanted to view. 

either don’t buy the 17 pro or the iOS needs attention. Never had this problem until I got the 17 pro recently from a 15 pro. 

also, the 17 pro doesn’t come up as a 17 pro it registers as a 15 pro and glitches and shuts off when apple play is on. WTH apple?

You're welcome, glad you got the issue resolved.

There is no need to report this to Apple as this is only happening on third party apps which Apple has no control over.

Did you figure out how to fix it? Having the same issue.

Can confirm it is not fixed in the 26.2 as in fact even worse now 🥴

It happens with mail for me too so not just third party apps - it is so annoying
