iPhone screen locks up, requiring password to unlock

I have iPhone 11Max pro and been having issues with my screens locking up and the only way to unlock the screen is to hit my side button and go back to black screen and put my password in … it was random but seems to be happening more frequently.

It says maximum capacity 78% and a message saying I need the battery changed.

Well, this confirms what we suspected. The battery should have been replaced 3-4 months ago.

Make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius Bar or take the phone to an authorized Apple service shop to have the battery replaced. About $100 (U.S.).

No one is asking you about storage, why do you keep bringing this up?

The problem is your battery is at the end of its life, you need to replace it now. It should have been replaced at 80%. Low battery health can cause all sorts of problems.

Replace it at an Apple store or authorized repair shop and you will be a happy camper.

Do not just replace it "somewhere". Only Apple or an authorized repair center will replace it with a genuine Apple battery, third party batteries do not meet Apple specifications and will cause you even bigger problems.
