iPhone battery draining quickly after heat exposure

i was given an iPhone 16 yesterday as a gift and this morning I accidentally left it on the hot radiator and it was boiling hot and left for around 30 minutes on the hot surface. I have now noticed the battery is not lasting as long as it did yesterday but still says the battery health is 100%. What do I do? Yesterday the battery lasted me from half 3 in the afternoon until 11 this morning. But now in just 10 minutes the battery has gone down by 6% which was not what it was doing yesterday. As it’s only a day old should I send it back?

Hello~ Charge your iPhone correctly as *LD150* points out. Yes …by placing your iPhone on a hot surface such as a radiator it can cause battery damage. High temperatures can speed up the chemical breakdown of the battery… leading to reduced capacity and possible other issues. Also… check out this user tip…

Send it back to who exactly? If the phone was damaged by heat exposure, that would be on you. And if you did send it back to whoever you might send it back to, you'd need to come clean that you may have damaged the phone, don't you think?
