One customizing my clock it shows it to be all liquid glass when I exit out of the customization, an ugly white border pops up around it

Just tested this, make sure that in Settings -> Accessibility -> Display & Text Size -> Show Borders is also disabled.
Did you check your Accessibility/Display & Text Size settings, if "Increase Contrast" is enabled?
Did you try to change the Font and/or switch from Glass to Solid?
Yes I did I have also tried turning increase contrast off and on
in the lock screen customization page my clock looks like this. This is what it should look like right?
