iPhone 16...FB Messenger can receive but not send messages

Have you checked in Settings > Cellular > Scroll down and find the Facebook Messenger app that its enabled for cellular usage? Make sure it's on and if the issue still persists, contact Facebook Messenger to troubleshoot their app.

So, where are you getting this App? Get it from the App Sore --not from Facebook.

3. Proceed from there as necessary

“iPhone 16...FB Messenger can receive but not send messages: Recently purchased an iPhone 16, has ios 26.1 installed. I cannot receive messages on FB Messenger unless I am in wifi. I can receive messages but not send. All settings have been checked numerous times, app is updated. I cannot find any issue. Is this a known glitch?“

FB Messenger Not Sending Messages:

A. Turn Off Cellar:

If WiFi is what to use here, go into Settings and be certain WiFi in toggled on, and that Cellular is toggled off. Be certain that you have a strong WiFi signal, by playing YouTube video, as audio and video would play a major role.

B. Clear your Caches:

Clearing the System Data:

Update the App:

1. Go Here: Download or update your Messenger app - Facebook
2. Click: Phone App Help tab
3. What's Provided at Top: You can click here to download Messenger directly or you can download Messenger from the App Store. After installing from the App Store, make sure to turn on automatic updates in the App Store to always have the newest version of the Messenger app.
