To the OP and All those Affected...

This seems to be catching on. So,…

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Performance" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when this issue began, and how you’ve trough it, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

That’s from parasitic currents picked up by the charging cable from your home wiring. You can try using a shielded cord.

I doubt they have it on charge while in use "throughout the day" which is what they report.

I also forgot to say it is impossible to get electrical "shocks" through a case with a 4.5 volt system. If they are experiencing this with a cased phone it is surely nerve or tendon problems.

iPhone Power Shock:

So, who is the seller? If not Apple, return it, and have the seller fix it, themselves.

I went to the Genius Bar and they said it was not a hardware issue but a software issue. We downloaded the update and I thought it
was improved but I am still feeling some sort of electricity and tingles. Curious if anyone is having pain in their hand and wrist too.

Turn it off. If it still does it, it's probably nerves in your hand.

I have also been having the same issues and also issues with my hand that holds the phone. I am having difficulty with my hand and thumb and even resorted to a thumb stabilizer. I just happened to look online because I continue to have strange electrical tingles when using my phone even with a good case and I see others are experiencing the same issue. Now concerned there is something wrong with this phone and it is injurying my hand/thumb as I feel my strength as well is being impacted when it comes to opening jars, etc. This is all new since having this phone. I have an appt at the genius bar tomorrow.

Here’s what I’ve noticed. Since the search field has dropped to the bottom of the screen, many people are holding their iPhones differently. This is especially true of individuals with smaller hands.

Previously the grip was more centered so the top of the screen could be more easily tapped and the top would be more centered in our view. Now, more people are holding their iPhones lower both for reach ability and viewing. This lower positioning causes people to press the lower corner into their hand more. This is probably contributing to the tingling sensations.
